If you’re going to do it – do it in unassailable style. Its sunrise, the silence of flight is punctuated only by the occasional blast of the powerful burners and the faint call of a bird or animal far beneath. The thrill is indescribable. You’re sipping fine champagne while hovering gently above the tree tops of the beautiful Magalies River Valley, just 45 km north of Johannesburg. This is a region boasting some of the best ballooning weather in the world.
Join our experienced handlers as we have an early morning walk with our elephants before releasing them on the farm or getting them back to their boma at sunset to settle for the night. Our handlers will introduce you to these gentle African giants, taking part in brush downs, touching (sit on their knee) and feeding them a delicious snack bucket. Long pants and walking shoes are recommended for this exhilarating experience.
Our tour sets off for Constitution Hill, home of South Africa’s architectural marvel, the Constitutional Court and site of Johannesburg’s Old Fort Prison. We visit and explore the Maboneng Precinct and make time to stop at Museum Africa, Johannesburg’s premier cultural history museum; reminiscent of a 1950’s shebeen or pub, and it’s here you’ll really sense the soul of the inner city.
The trip from the dock to the shark site is only about ten minutes so there is no long and tedious boat ride. The bay is also very protected so our sea conditions are normally very calm and comfortable. The crew will provide a briefing concerning the cage diving on the boat. To find the sharks they have to bait and chum. The baits and chum are natural marine products. It can take several minutes or several hours for the first shark to appear, you need to understand that nothing is guaranteed. Once you have sharks at the boat, the cage will go into the water and the diving will begin. Topside viewing is exciting for the non-diver and as the shark works very close to the surface you will have plenty of opportunity to take some action shots. A trip generally lasts for +- 4 hours and they offer a light lunch, snacks and drinks on the boat.
