Accommodation
V&A Hotel, Waterfront Cape Town
Originally the North Quay Warehouse, the Victoria & Alfred Hotel was built in 1904. Situated in the centre of the world-renowned Waterfront, the hotel offers a chic haven amidst the bustle. Located at the base of Table Mountain, it provides some of the most magnificent views of this natural wonder, Cape Town Harbour, and the sleek Mother City.
Coopmanhuijs Hotel & Spa
Built-in 1713 as one of the first grand residences in Stellenbosch, the iconic Coopmanhuijs at 33 Church Street underwent three years’ painstaking renovation before emerging as the 5-star Coopmanhuijs Boutique Hotel & Spa in 2010.
Tilney Manor (Sanbona Wildlife Reserve)
Outside Montagu in the little Karoo, Western Cape, lies “a piece of heaven” known as Sanbona Wildlife Reserve. Sanbona is one of the biggest nature reserves in South Africa. The historic Tilney Manor is surrounded by breathtaking views of the rolling mountains and surrounding countryside.
Golf Courses
Steenberg Golf Course
Steenberg, with its long and noble history, spectacular winery, five-star hotel and spa, and 18-hole Golf Course, is unique – and the perfect setting for the Steenberg Experience. Located in the beautiful Constantia Valley, with the spectacular icon of Table Mountain as its backdrop, and close proximity to tourist attractions and the airport, Steenberg Estate is a must-visit destination with a must-play golf course.
Royal Cape Golf Course
Feel the allure of the oldest golf course in South Africa. The Royal Cape Golf Club was founded in 1885 and lies in the shadow of Table Mountain. As stated on their website Royal Cape is a traditional parkland course, with narrow fairways and a fairly level layout. The trees that border the course severely penalise errant shots. At some holes, creeks and ponds come into play.
Clovelly Golf Course
Golfers of all skill levels will find enjoyment and be challenged on this well-designed 18-hole course. With spectacular mountain views and fairways that flow through the natural valley, it’s no wonder that Clovelly was one of Bobby Locke’s favourite courses.
Pearl Valley Golf Course
The ‘Golden Bear’ opened this course in 2003, commenting: “Surrounded by mountains this is one of the most spectacular settings in which I have designed a golf course.” In the world of golf it is simply not possible to receive a greater validation.
De Zalze Golf Course
The De Zalze Golf Course is situated within the De Zalze Winelands Golf Estate. This course is the perfect test for all golfers. The red and blue markers will be ideal for golfers who is new to the game or prefer a shorter course for more enjoyment. The white and yellow markers is a challenging set up that will test your shot making abilities. The course has an excellent mix of parkland holes, as well as the Oak tree lined Blaauwklippen river which winds its way through the Golf Estate and comes into play at various intervals. The De Zalze Golf Course course offers a memorable Winelands golf experience for all skill levels.
Erinvale Golf Course
Erinvale is widely considered one of the finest Golf Residential Estates in South Africa. The Golf Course was designed by the legendary Gary Player and officially opened, 27th May 1995.
